Post Workout Endorphin Rush

I know I’ve said this before. I heart kettlebells. Let me explain.

In the past, I would get all excited, go on a workout binge, come home sore, and force myself to go back. I would utilize mantras to keep myself going, phrases like, “No pain, no gain.”

Once, I joined a 6-week fitness bootcamp; we alternated lifting with running. I quit going on the running days after I almost vomited on the track. Embarrased at my inability to keep up with my peers, I eventually quit altogether.

Working out with kettlebells is challenging, sure, but I don’t need to convince myself to workout. In fact, it’s the opposite! Not to mention, this blog has become a way for me to just get out and do what I need to do to get it done!

Speaking of getting it done, I had the best workout today! Sure, I’m still a beginner, but I can already feel  progress. My body has adjusted to the shock of being in action, and my muscles seem more responsive. I’m also standing taller and sleeping better!

After a great jump rope warmup and some stretches, I worked with an 8kg kettllebell. We did squats, presses, and thrusters, and half-swings.

Here’s an uncut video of the last two exercises I did with Bill at the BodyVox studio today:

(Quick Side Note:  I’m wearing black again-- it didn’t help the whole slimming thing.)

When I left the studio, I felt… giddy. I described the feeling to my girlfriend as, “You know how you feel at the beginning of a teenage crush?” While talking with her on the phone, I actually giggled.

Man, I love those endorphins.
