Sun day, Sundae, SUNDAY!!!

Organic Food Bar

Aloha, everyone!

It’s Sunday afternoon, and I’m doing my weekly thing- enjoying a chocolate organic bar (made with love, I promise!), typing my blog, and listening to 90′s music.

I remember when music on TV was either live or in video format, and the closest thing to reality TV was a game show! If you remember that too, then you’ll recognize the songs that have been playing on the 90′s cable channel while I’ve been getting this blog together:

I think the 90′s were the last time that any male lead singer claimed to be too sexy… until Justin Timberlake. But, I digress.

I’m here to report my stats. Just a quick reminder–  I’m a 35 year old female, and I’m 5′ 4″. I started this journey on May 4, 2009, and my goal weight of 157.5 is for October 30, 2009.

Angela's Measurements Graphed Over Time

As I mentioned before, I was retaining water at the beginning of last week. We’ll see if that continues every month, or if that’s directly affected by my eating and water-drinking habits.

It looks like I’m in some sort of plateau, without much progress; however, I feel like I’m out of that purgatory and now getting into my groove.

I decided to take a look at myself. The only way I could do that was to fire up the digital camera. Since my 2-year old can only take video, I took these pictures using a self-timer, so they’re not the best.

I’d be interested in hearing what you might notice in your  blog comments. I know the photos aren’t that great. And- what am I wearing? I have NO idea why I chose this outfit on the first day of this blog, but now I’m going to wear the same outfit until it doesn’t fit anymore! (I hope that’s next month.)

Oh, you may be wondering how my friend M.C. is doing. Pretty well, actually! Here’s his info:

M.C.'s Stats on June 14, 2009

I hear all of you… I can’t compare M.C.’s 100% greater weight loss in pounds to mine. So, I will do it silently. Just kidding. I’m over it.

8 kg kb

Today, I’m just cheering both of us on! I cannot wait until my first goal date, July 17th. I don’t know if I’ll make the milestones I’ve set for myself, but regardless, I’m definitely enjoying the journey!

Have a great week, everyone!

And don’t forget- the drawing for the free kettlebell will take place on June 30th!

    Angela,

Before and after shows big improvement already! Body composition is more important than weight loss. Don’t get fixated on that number on the scale!

    Much love,
    Quoc

LIKE LIKE LIKE!! I can see a difference in the before/afters (btw, kudos for sticking to the same outfit and actually posting pix)! Question though. I think a pound a week is healthy….but if you maintain that then you’d need 50 weeks to lose 50 lbs (almost a year). Guess i need some explaination of whether or not your goal is a healthy one? Nevertheless, you are on the road to success! Proud of you!

  9. sasha says:

oh yah, and I vote for all three: sun day, sunday and sundae! Hee hee

  10. Angela says:

Yes, yes, and yes (to all three! :) )
My original goal was based on previous success, where I managed to lose an average of 2.0 pounds a week. I’m totally not on that track, but then again, I’ve had a baby and am also 5 years older, so my metabolism and body makeup is completely different!
If I “only” lose 27 1/2 pounds by October 30th, I won’t cry. I’ll just push the date back and keep going. But chances are good that I’ll drop to at least a size 12 by then. (Since now I’m just getting out of the “plus” sizes and back into my size 16s! Note- there’s no “W” after that 16!) :D
