I thought today was going to be a great day before I even met it. You know what I mean? You’re on track, doing what you need to do, and you just have a good feeling? Kinda like walking into an exam prepared?
I had an amazing Saturday, kicked off by a great walk around Magic Island at Ala Moana Park with my Power Partner. We took it easy- me, nursing my pulled hamstring, and Lia, carrying her oldest dog.
My next walk was a pretty brisk one, around the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet. My guesstimation is that we did a 2 mile walk, with the sun beating down the asphalt. It was still enjoyable, especially the local kine snacks.
I closed the day in Waikiki, listening to live, local bands, and just hanging out. It was great to get out of the house-- just to get out-- not to work out! Part of the reason I gained weight is that I became more of a home body after having my child. On Saturday night, I was able to get out and get active, opening new doors.
So, I had a good time going into Sunday, and first thing in the morning, I jumped on the scale and took my measurements. The next post will have more detail about Sunday in general, but here are my stats!
You’re not looking at a typo. I lost two inches in my hip area in a week, and one in my waist. Wow! See, working my abs due to a pulled hamstring wasn’t all that bad!
I got so motivated after taking my measurements. What a great feeling. Even Father’s Day brunch couldn’t hold me back. I came home and redid them, just to be sure, and then jumped into a quick workout, which I’ll chat about later.
Oh, and my friend, M.C.? He’s still doing great! (See below.) But, be warned, M.C., it’s time for some action! “I’m hummin’, comin’ atchya!”

Crazy losses going on! Am I adding it correctly? 10 inches? that’s amazing! It’s great seeing how dedicated you are. I’ve pulled out my good ol kettlebell too and looking to see if I cannot lose a bit from the midsection. I’d be curious to know how many inches have been lost from all the people following your blog. That should seriously be something you should calculate.
hi ty- don’t give angela any more ideas on projects that are enticing due to the miniscule details you can get into!
i think i know her well, and it does sound like something she (and i) would enjoy to get sidetracked on.
you are admirable. every freaggin step of the way.
angela – focus, focus.
It’s true… I would LOVE to hear how other people’s experiences are going. Maybe I won’t add up every single inch, but it would be encouraging to hear how folks are doing. I have heard some stories on facebook and also received some direct messages on twitter.
If enough people write to me, I’ll throw up a new tab on the site- readers’ progress, or something.
(But don’t worry, I won’t lose track of myself in the process! )
I will start. I have lost ZERO inches. Unless it’s height and in that case I did not have much to start with in the first place.
Love the scenery, and how you compare it to going into an exam prepared. Ha, you’re such the nerd.
Congratulations on your losses! Woo hoo!
Okay… I’m challenging you!!!!!
I think it’s time for a fiber and nutrient-rich diet… with no carbonated drinks. Think you’re up to it?
